Currently studying to take the CCM exam next month, and I’ve been using this book, as it was recommended by coworkers {and my boss}, who’ve already passed the exam. I am planning to purchase a different book, however. There is no flow to the book. No table of contents. No organization. If you need to review a certain topic, you have to flip through the book to find what you’re looking for, and you may find it in multiple places in the book. That doesn’t work well for me. The information seems concise, but some of the answers don’t match the info. For example, there’s a question about who can function as a gatekeeper... The book says “A Gatekeeper is a primary care physician...”, but the answer is All of the above {nurse, physician assistant, and physician}. Makes no sense! Also, there’s a question about Care Maps, which are not mentioned at all in the book! Also, the six domains on CM listed in the explanation of one of the test questions, are different from the six domains listed in the book! Very frustrating! I’m done with this book, and moving on to another - CCM Certification Made Easy. Reviews are much better!***Update after taking {and passing} the exam: While I don’t take back my complaints about this book, I have to say I am glad I used it to make my flash cards, because 85% of the questions on the test, we’re in this book. I got nervous as it got closer to the test, because everyone I knew that passed, used this book, so I decided not to totally discount it. The other book I used was great also, but did not contain as much info from the test.

Highly recommend! I took this exam 2 times using a different study guide and failed both times so I figured it was time for a change in study guides. I bought this study guide after reading the great reviews I thought I would use it for my 3rd time testing. If you are looking for a study guide that will not only provide you with concise need to know information this is it! This book not only prepared me to achieve a passing score it also boosted my confidence to pass the test. I also purchased the CCM Practice Questions/Practice Tests and highly recommend both of these.

Unfortunately, I have taken the CCM Exam several times. It has been a great disappointment failing this test those times. My last score was 492/500. I have been a RN Case Manager since 2008 and know how to be a case manager however, I need the certification to further my career.I decided to purchase the CCM Exam Secrets Study Guide for my December Exam. I do not like to read and am very pleased with how in depth the study material in the book is but is very short. It explains vocabulary, the case management concepts as well as other things that are on the exam in very little words. I look forward to passing the CCM in December.

I "skimmed" through the material in the book over the 3 days prior to my exam. I took the practice exam in the back of the book the day before my exam. I took the exam...I passed. So at least for me it worked well. The material in this book was VERY much like the questions I had on my exam.

I am finding this study guide to most helpful. It is concise and understandable. For this particular area of study, it broke down the Case Management concepts into the 5 domains and made it much easier to study. I learn best by repetition. Since this guide contains only 90 pages of material, I have been able to review it over and over again. The 150 question test is helping me apply the principles, not just memorize them. I like that EACH answer has an explanation. Thank you!

Update! I recently took the exam. This is a great study guide. It's compact, and provides essential information. 95% or more of the questions were from topics covered in this guide! As a matter of fact, this was the only guide I used! I strongly recommend it!!!!

I purchased this guide as my only test prep. Been using it fairly consistently 1-2 x per week for 8 weeks. Took and passed the CCM exam on the first time yesterday. I would have to say that the good part was that the basic content in the book essentially touched upon the basic concepts in the exam. The practice questions ultimately weren’t even close to what was addressed on my exam. This guide is probably an excellent brush up for someone like me that has been fairly exclusively employed in a case management field for a decade and needs refresher on some topics that I might not see everyday. Other than this, the CCM exam does appear to be an exam where you simply have to know the content.

This is a great study guide. I had taken the CCM exam twices already with a score of 473 on both occasion. I had read the CCM review guide to prepare for the exam. Well, I decided to try another study book and i am so glad i used this book because 100% of all the questions on CCM exam was covered by this book. Yes it was hard to ready but i had the advantage of reading the CCM study guide so i already knew the basic. If you want to pass your exam, ready both this book and the CCM study guide and you will pass. Good luck.
