This series really grabbed me at first. The new world and survival of the race were compelling themes. This story...was not compelling. Unlike many authors, Ruby D knows how to help her characters leap off the page. She's outstanding at letting readers feel the connections between H and H, and also secondary characters. I am not feeling those connections here. The female lead should garner a lot of sympathy for her situation. Instead, her overwrought behavior made her unlikable. I see none of the steel of RD's usual female leads. There's no hopefulness of any kind. I found myself skipping ahead to get past yet another cringey episode with her. Also, for the first time in a Ruby book, I found the sex odd, off-kilter, and frankly, kind of nasty and not in a good way if you know what I mean. The series doesn't seem to progress here. It's a dark interlude that's mostly some kind of placeholder. I rushed through the last 50 pages of the book just to get out. I can't recall any of Ruby's books that inspired me to skip any of the parts. This series doesn't seem to have a good thread.

I think I say this every time I read one of Ruby's dragon books but this one was one of my favorites. I love this series. I was sad to read in the author notes that this one might not be as long as Ruby's barbarians. However, I trust the author because her writing is phenomenal. I don't how she puts everything I crave to read in her books. With this book your going to get a strong heroine and a sweet dragon man on a journey to find a lost brother. They grow together while fighting their own fears and face an unfightable enemy. That's all I'm going to give away, just read the book.

This book does start off a bit slow. Especially if you aren't familiar with the series. After Andi and Liam leave their fort all hell breaks loose and you are in for some very hot scenes and tons of suspense and action. It all flows very smoothly together as you go forward in their journey and eventually end up with a HEA.There are also a couple of new twists if you have been following the series and they are pretty interesting. Makes you wonder what is in store for the humans.

I was so excited for Liam's story, and it was everything I could ask for! Liam and Andrea are awesome together! I loved the peripheral characters as well. I can't wait for Gabe's story! I don't want to give spoilers, but the part where Andrea is sick...just, wow! I love how the characters come together in that part! The ending was wonderfully exciting! Can't wait to see what's next with that! Sorry about all of the exclamation points, I'm just super excited about this book. Anyway, you will love it! Buy this book! You won't be sorry!!

You can read this full length book in series order or as a stand alone, but I recommend series order. It just makes all the characters and their connections and struggles richer. I enjoyed this installment and look forward to the next. This book like all of Ruby’s is well written and super steamy.Andi is helping hold down the fort (where survivors of the apocalypse live),literally, when her teenage brother decides to take off for new horizons she decides to go after him. Liam is Andi’s shadow and decides she will not go without him. Liam is a stranger to Earth and in love and protective of Andi. He keeps a tight rein on his wild side, but his need for Andi may be his undoing causing him to lose control of his mind forever. This book is worth the price and your time! Another Ruby Dixon hit! Enjoy!

I KNEEL, PRAY, AND WORSHIP AT THE ALTER OF ALL THINGS RUBY DIXON.As always, i am content, happy, dazed and complete ♡ She never fails to compel you with her story, then build your utter anticipation for the characters whose stories are to come. I cant honestly say exactly what it is about the writing that truly brings you into the world, but good gracious, pretty soon you look at the clock and realize you've been reading for the past 4 hours. Now liam and Andi, was a really cute story. Angsty? Sure. Action packed? meh. Twist your mind into another dreadful level of true apocalyptic horror? Oh absolutely ma. That twist. THAT TWIST.Liam was so sweet, and i'll be the first to admit, iwas kind of put off by Andi at first, but i think something that Ruby does really well is make her characters relatable. As time went on and you learn Andis back story she grew on me big time. You really feel for the people having to live in these situations; apocalypse, but 7 years later. Pretty sure id be dead, but hey its sometimes fun to imagine a big gold dragon would get a whiff of you and take you away into the sky and love to eternally. AhhhhWell, rambling. Thanks Ruby Dixon, NOW MORE♡

Just love this series....RUBY I hope you keep this series going...I know you said it's harder to write them but...I think there is so many more books to come out of this...not only the lady dragons...but Benny...and what the survivors of receiving Dragon blood could mean. Please keep turning out this series...I like it even more than Barbarians...shut my mouth you say? Lol

I've read all the books in this series and I can say this is my favorite. This book had good character development. The other books were okay but I found that there was a flaw with how the characters fell in love. Andrea and Atalim (Liam) played a game of flirtation for a lot of the book and played around. It took the traumatic experience of Andrea almost dying for Atalim to realize that they maybe had more feelings for each other. They both self sacrifice to save the other and I found that to be beautiful. I was more invested in this coupling because they stood together through a very difficult time. I can't wait to see what Ruby Dixon plans to do with Gabe and Teva's Story in the next book.
